Free Tools for HR Professionals

Recruiting, onboarding, and compliance work — candidate PII handling, resume screening at volume, job description calibration — without stacking another $150/user/month HRIS subscription. Candidate files never upload. GDPR, CCPA, and candidate-confidentiality workflows get structurally safer when files stay in your browser.

Common Use Cases

Screen a batch of resumes for a role

Resume keyword matcher against the JD → quickly identify top matches. Redact PII before sharing with hiring manager for unbiased review.

Reformat a candidate's messy resume

PDF OCR (if scanned) → PDF to text → CV formatter → clean PDF output. Ready for the ATS upload.

Audit a JD for inclusivity

Job description analyzer flags biased language, checks readability, balances technical vs. soft skills.

Onboard a new hire efficiently

Fill PDF form for the I-9, W-4, direct deposit → flatten → sanitize metadata → email to the new hire.

Draft a diplomatic candidate rejection

Email writer for the structure → tone rewriter to keep it professional but human.

Anonymize candidate materials for blind-review panel

Redact PDF removes names, addresses, photos, university names. Blind-review panels get clean materials without HR manually masking each file.

Questions

Is candidate data processed GDPR-safely?

Candidate files never leave your browser or transmit to our servers. This is structurally safer under GDPR "data minimization" and "privacy by design" principles than any tool requiring upload. However, confirm with your DPO — GDPR compliance is a workflow question, not just a tooling question.

Can I bulk-process 100 resumes at once?

Tools process one file at a time in the browser. For true bulk workflows, a dedicated ATS (Greenhouse, Workable) with resume-parsing is the right fit.

Will the ATS resume checker tell me exactly what a specific ATS (Greenhouse, Workday, Taleo) will parse?

It checks for common parsing quirks that trip up most ATS systems (tables, multi-column, headers/footers, unusual fonts). It's not a perfect emulator of any specific ATS, but it catches 80% of the common parsing issues.

Can I use these during a candidate interview?

Yes — they load instantly, so pulling up a JD analyzer or resume tool mid-interview is frictionless.

Do the AI tools leak candidate data to external AI providers?

No. Our AI tools run on in-browser models (Gemini Nano via Chrome) — content is processed on the candidate-reviewer's device, not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Cloud.
