What is the time difference between EST and PST?

EST (Eastern Standard Time) is 3 hours ahead of PST (Pacific Standard Time). When it is 3:00 PM EST, it is 12:00 PM PST. During daylight saving time: EDT is 3 hours ahead of PDT. The 3-hour difference stays the same year-round because both zones observe DST simultaneously.
