Method 1: Browser OCR (Any Device)

1. Take a photo of the receipt — phone camera, good lighting, flat on a surface
2. Open the receipt scanner in any browser

Tips for Clear Receipt Photos

• Flatten the receipt — curled thermal paper creates shadows. Press under a book briefly
• Bright, even lighting — overhead light or daylight. No shadows across the text
• Dark surface behind — white receipt on dark surface gives the camera better contrast
• Straight angle — shoot directly from above, not at an angle
• Fill the frame — get close enough that receipt text is clearly readable in the photo
