YouTube Handle Availability Checker

Check if a YouTube @handle is taken or available — instantly. If it's claimed, see who owns it (channel name, subscribers, country, description). If it's free, claim it before someone else does.

@

Every YouTube channel needs a unique @handle (introduced in late 2022). Good handles are first-come, first-served — and once a handle is taken, the only way to get it is to wait for the owner to release it or change theirs. This tool checks any handle instantly. If it's available, claim it on YouTube. If it's taken, you'll see who owns it so you can decide on an alternative.

What is a YouTube handle?

A YouTube handle is your channel's unique @username (like @MrBeast). It appears in your channel URL, comments, mentions, and search. Handles were introduced in late 2022 — every channel needs one. Each handle is unique across all of YouTube.

What are the rules for YouTube handles?

3-30 characters, letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), underscores (_), periods (.), or hyphens (-). No spaces, no other special characters. You can change your handle up to 2 times per 14-day period.

How do I claim an available handle?

Sign in to YouTube → click your profile → Settings → Channel → Basic info → Handle. Or visit youtube.com/handle. Available handles are first-come, first-served, so claim quickly if you find a good one.

Why does it show 'invalid format'?

The handle must be 3-30 characters and only contain letters, numbers, dots, dashes, or underscores. No spaces, emojis, or other special characters.
