🎥 Drop a video here or click to select Supports MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV, and more

Resize video files to any resolution instantly — no upload to any server, no watermarks, no file size limits. Drop your video, pick a resolution preset like 1080p, 720p, 480p, or 360p, or enter a custom width and height. Unlike online tools that upload your files to remote servers, this resizer uses FFmpeg WebAssembly to process everything directly in your browser. Your videos never leave your device — completely private and secure.

How do I resize a video online?

Drop or select your video file, pick a resolution preset (1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p) or enter custom dimensions, and click Resize. The resized file downloads instantly. No account or signup required. Works with MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV, and most other video formats. The output is always MP4 for maximum compatibility.

Does resizing a video reduce quality?

Downscaling — for example, going from 1080p to 720p — slightly reduces detail, but the difference is usually unnoticeable in normal viewing. The video is re-encoded with H.264 at the quality level you choose: High (CRF 18) preserves the most detail, Medium (CRF 26) is a great balance of quality and file size, and Low (CRF 35) prioritizes smaller files. Upscaling a video (e.g. 480p to 1080p) won't add real detail — it just stretches existing pixels — so it's best used when a platform requires a specific minimum resolution.

What does "keep aspect ratio" do?

When the "keep aspect ratio" checkbox is enabled (it's on by default), the tool automatically calculates the matching dimension so your video doesn't get stretched or squished. For example, if you resize a 16:9 video to 1280px wide, the height is automatically set to 720px. This prevents black bars and distortion. If you need a specific exact resolution (like a square 1080x1080 for Instagram), uncheck the option and enter both dimensions manually.

Can I resize a video to a custom resolution?

Yes. Select the "Custom" option and enter any width and height in pixels. With "keep aspect ratio" enabled, you only need to set one dimension — the other is calculated automatically based on the original video's proportions. This is useful for targeting specific platform requirements like YouTube (1920x1080), Instagram Reels (1080x1920), or TikTok (1080x1920).

Is it safe to resize videos with this tool?

Absolutely. Unlike cloud-based video resizers like Kapwing, Clideo, or VEED, this tool never uploads your video anywhere. The entire resizing process runs locally in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly — a real video processing engine compiled to run on your device. Your original files stay on your computer the whole time. Nothing is sent to any server.
