Doggy Break — Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Overview
Doggy Break is a Chrome extension that forces a timed rest break by displaying a full-screen sleeping-dog overlay on a recurring interval. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
- No accounts or sign-ups required
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No cookies
- No data sent to external servers
- No browsing history collected
- No page content is read
How It Works
- The extension uses Chrome's alarms API to fire a break event on your chosen interval.
- When the break fires, a content script injects a full-screen overlay onto the active tab. The overlay covers the page until the break timer ends.
- The dog video is bundled inside the extension and loaded locally. There is no network call to retrieve it.
- The extension does not read, parse, or transmit any page content. It only renders an overlay on top of the page.
Permissions
- alarms: Schedules the recurring break trigger.
- storage: Persists your settings (interval, break length, skip toggle, audio toggle, paused state) locally.
- scripting: Supports overlay injection on the active tab.
- host_permissions <all_urls>: Required so the break overlay can render on whatever page is active when the timer fires. The content script only adds an overlay; it does not read page content, form inputs, or browsing history.
Advertising
Doggy Break does not display ads.
Third-Party Services
Doggy Break does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.
Data Storage
Your settings are stored locally using Chrome's storage API. They never leave your device.
Children's Privacy
Doggy Break does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
