Why PDF Pages End Up Sideways
Scanners rotate pages randomly. Mobile scans from phone cameras often save landscape pages as portrait. Merged documents combine files with different orientations. Legacy PDFs from old systems have mixed page rotations. Whatever the cause, a PDF with sideways pages is unreadable and unprofessional.
How to Rotate PDF Pages
- Open the Rotate PDF tool
- Upload your PDF
- See thumbnails of all pages — click individual pages to select them, or select all
- Choose rotation: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° (flip upside down)
- Download the fixed PDF
You can rotate all pages at once or target specific pages. A 50-page PDF where only page 3 is sideways? Select just page 3, rotate it, done.
Common Rotation Scenarios
- Scanned documents — scanner fed pages landscape but they should be portrait. Rotate all 90° clockwise.
- One wrong page — page 7 of a 20-page PDF is upside down. Rotate just page 7 by 180°.
- Mixed orientation — some pages portrait, some landscape. Rotate individual pages to make them all consistent.
- Phone scans — camera app saved in wrong orientation. Quick 90° fix.
