What to Bake at Each Temperature

Fan Oven vs Conventional Oven

Fan ovens (convection ovens) circulate air and cook about 20°C hotter than the temperature suggests. If your recipe was written for a conventional oven and you have a fan oven, reduce the temperature by 20°C (or 25°F).

Example: a recipe calling for 180°C conventional should be cooked at 160°C fan. For Fahrenheit: 350°F conventional = 325°F fan.

350°F equals 176.7°C — typically written as 175°C or 180°C on European ovens. This is the most common baking temperature.

What is 180 Celsius in Fahrenheit?

180°C equals 356°F — close to 350°F, which is the US equivalent for standard baking.

180°C is approximately Gas Mark 4, which is a moderate oven.

Should I adjust temperature for a fan oven?
