Curved Text Generator — Free Online, Arc & Circle Text (No Signup)

Last updated: April 20267 min readDesign Tools

You need text that follows a curve. Maybe you're making a badge, a logo, a seal, an emblem, or a YouTube thumbnail where straight text is boring. In Photoshop, curved text requires the pen tool and a "type on path" workflow that takes 15 minutes to figure out. In Canva, curved text is a Pro-only feature.

Or you can open a browser tool and drag a slider.

How to Curve Text (30 Seconds)

  1. Open the Text Designer.
  2. Type your text.
  3. Use the curve slider. Drag it to bend the text into an arc. Further right = more curve.
  4. Adjust direction. One direction curves upward (smile shape), the other curves downward (frown shape).
  5. Pick a bold font — curved text reads better in thick, bold typefaces.
  6. Download as transparent PNG.

That's it. No pen tool, no path drawing, no $12.99/month subscription.

What Curved Text Is Used For

Badge and emblem designs

The classic badge layout: curved text on top, curved text on bottom (opposite direction), straight text or a symbol in the middle. Think of brewery logos, sports team patches, or university seals. The tool lets you curve each line independently, so you can create this layout by adding two lines of text with opposing curves.

Logo arcs

Many logos use a gentle arc on the text to add movement and personality. Not a full circle — just a slight bend that keeps the text from looking static. A 10-15% curve on a brand name gives it energy without making it hard to read.

Circular seals and stamps

Official-looking seals use text arcing around a central point. While the tool creates arc shapes (not full 360-degree circles), a strong curve setting gets you close to the look of a circular seal, especially for the top or bottom half of a stamp design.

Thumbnail and social media text

Straight text on a YouTube thumbnail is fine. Curved text on a YouTube thumbnail gets clicked. There's a reason every "TOP 10" thumbnail uses curved or angled text — it creates visual tension that draws the eye.

Best Fonts for Curved Text

FontWhy It Works Curved
AntonUltra thick — stays readable at any curve
BangersComic-book bold — curves look energetic
Bebas NeueTall and clean — curves without visual noise
Archivo BlackWide and heavy — fills the arc well
Russo OneGeometric bold — clean arcs
Permanent MarkerHand-drawn — curves feel natural
OswaldCondensed bold — fits more text in the arc

Fonts to avoid for heavy curves: Sacramento and Pacifico (script fonts) get hard to read when curved. Raleway and Montserrat (thin weights) can look wispy on a curve. Use these for straight text and pair them with a bolder curved line above or below.
